GIJ Politics Invisible Forces
“Falsehood
is invariably the child of fear in one form or another.”

Crowley.
V. The Invisible Forces
One crucial thing that the novice in GIJ Politics must
learn quickly is that come election time, cases of unsubstantiated allegations
and counter-allegations will increase exponentially thanks to the invisible
forces from various political camps.
Mark my words, as sure as the sun will shine, there will always be dimwits who would start operating ‘ghost accounts’ for despicable purposes.
An extension of the idiocy comes in the form WhatsApp links entreating students
to join for fake revelations. There will also be supposed think tanks,
propaganda hubs and all sorts of innovative insanity to win power.
Are
you not amazed at how imbecility and popular ignorance is flourishing in the midst
of unprecedented learning? Are you not bothered by the perennial psychosis that
mark our electoral procedures? Granted, we all cannot belong to the same side
but what use is the pride of being in the university if we cannot maintain
unity in diversity. It is okay for us to disagree but there’s never a reason to
be disagreeable.
Unfortunately, we the students allow these people to
share unsubstantiated materials and encourage them by giving attention to such content.
Are we not, to an extent, accomplices getting the leadership that we deserve?
On my part, I have always demanded of these pseudo-account
operators and deluded propagandist cowards to reveal their identities since he
who speaks the truth has no need to hide. Wherever I chance upon them, I engage
them with reasonable arguments even though they are hardly able to reason much
because I don’t believe it is right to smear the character of others for a
passing position in our modest institution.
You know, I am no stranger to falsehood and I know how
badly it hurts. I am sure you do too. That is why I dare to stand up for any
candidate, whether I support him/her or otherwise. Now, with nervous boldness,
I want to urge you to demand more of yourself and prove to these Invisible
Forces that they can’t insult our intelligence and get away with it. If they
have any proof why a candidate is unfit, they should boldly come out and
declare it or forever remain silent.
I know my GIJ deserves better and I will vote on the
quality of policies and integrity of character. What about you?
Exception:
Without exception, I have no respect for these cowards who
hide behind the anonymity afforded by WhatsApp and Facebook to destroy other
people for votes.

Exactly the case. Why would you attempt to influence me to win my vote by painting another black. As a matter of fact, whatever you'd say negatively about your fellow candidate, I'd take that for you.
ReplyDeleteWe are reasonable enough to critically determine who is fit and who is not. Just tell us what you can do. We shall listen. Considerably, choose or not choose you
Finito.
ReplyDeleteThanks very much Epic for such a remarkable reminder on the use of fake accounts to discredit good reputation of other candidates.
ReplyDeleteFeet and fingers will be on grounds to at least fish out the main identities of one or two fake accounts users.
I share the same ideology with you that '' He who alleges must be able to prove otherwise beyond reasonable doubt about what he alleges''.
Absolutely. Such baseless allegations can hurt people
